An abstract interpretation of Shopify's statement "We unlock the power of commerce for those seeking independence." Inspired by an exercise of cutting sheets of coloured paper into pieces and rearranging them as a collage - the mural’s large fragments of colour appear to have been cut out of an imaginary framework, like puzzle pieces. Floating above a triangular grid, they overlap and intersect to reveal new forms. No longer fixed in one place, the cutouts symbolize ideas and tools which have been 'unlocked', made free and accessible, with an unlimited potential to be reconfigured and used in unique ways.
